PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) One of the Philadelphia police officers who responded to the call of the ambush shooting in West Philadelphia took to Facebook in a post that has now went viral.

Officer Jonny Castro penned the post where he described the terrifying events and called Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett a hero.

"You did great last night. You made the 18th district and the entire Department proud of you. You are a hero. January 7th will forever be your alive day. Rest up," he wrote.

As of this writing, the post has been shared over 49,000 times.
