Firefighter performs CPR on dog to save its life

It's always the goal of firefighters to leave no man behind while extinguishing a blaze.

In Romania though, that mantra even extends to "man's best friend."

Recently in the city of Pitesti, a firefighter performed CPR on a dog that had collapsed from smoke inhalation after being removed from a ground-floor apartment fire.

Local journalist Costi Tudor captured the incident in a Facebook video.

Firefighter Costache Mugurel sprung into action to help the dog after its owner was immediately rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Mugurel performed chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the animal until an oxygen mask became available.
