Eagles cut Brent Celek, reportedly sign DT Ngata

The Eagles and their free agents have been active Tuesday morning with the team making a few moves, and members of last year's team making moves of their own.

The Eagles started the day making some internal moves after ESPN reported that right tackle Lane Johnson's contract was restructured in order to free up $7.5 million in cap space.

The team's next move came on the other side of the ball, as ESPN reported the team signed veteran defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to a one-year deal. Ngata is a five-time Pro-Bowler and adds even more depth to an already dangerous Eagles defensive line.

Ngata's signing Should mean an end to Beau Allen's time in Philadelphia, as he too hits the free agent market. Allen took to Instagram to thank the city of Philadelphia on Tuesday.

The Eagles next move was a heartbreaker, as they released veteran tight end Brent Celek. Celek had spent 11 seasons with the Eagles and was a long time fan favorite.

The Eagles also added a linebacker and special teamer in Corey Nelson, who last played for the Denver Broncos.

As for Eagles expected to leave the 'nest', NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports tight end Trey Burton is expected to sign with the Chicago Bears. The Bears would be adding yet another pass-catching weapon to their team after signing Penn State product Allen Robinson away from the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday night.
