Girl, 17, to be tried as adult in shooting death of boy, 13

A 17-year-old girl will be tried as an adult in the shooting of a 13-year-old boy.

Prosecutors say Casche Alford had her murder case waived from juvenile court to adult court on Thursday.

Alford is accused of shooting Nathaniel Plummer Jr. He was found wounded on a sidewalk on Jan. 7 and died the next day, becoming Camden's first homicide victim of the year.

She surrendered Jan. 9 to face attempted-murder and other charges stemming from a shooting in October. That incident left a 19-year-old man wounded.

Alford has been held at a juvenile detention facility ever since.

The Associated Press reported her lawyer had not returned a phone message left at his office after business hours.
