Gloucester Co. woman crowned Miss NJ, will compete in Miss America

A Gloucester County resident has been crowned Miss New Jersey.

Brenna Weick won the title Saturday night at the Ocean City Music Pier, beating out 29 other contestants.

It was the fourth time the 22-year-old Mantua resident had competed in the pageant. Her platform was raising awareness about cyber bullying.

The first runner-up was Olivia Michael, of Tenafly.

The win gave Weick a spot in the Miss America pageant, which will be held Sept. 11 in Atlantic City.

Last year's winner was Hammonton resident Lindsey Giannini.

Pageant officials also took time Saturday to honor the late Cara McCollum, who won the pageant in 2013 and went on to compete in the Miss America pageant. McCollum was killed in February when her car crashed on a wet New Jersey highway.
