Security guard shoots gunman who wounded 2 outside North Philly bar

Authorities say a security guard shot and killed a gunman who wounded two people outside a North Philadelphia bar.

Investigators say the security guard saw a 30-year-old man shoot two people outside the J/F Hookah Lounge in the Germantown section of the city shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday.

The guard shot the man multiple times, and he was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday. His name wasn't immediately released. A weapon believed to have been his was recovered.

The security guard cooperated with police, was taken over to the hospital as a witness and positively identified the shooter.

A 30-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were both taken to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to the leg. Both were listed in stable condition.
