Heartwarming sign-off: Police Sergeant retires after 28 years

SALEM CITY, NJ (WTXF) A touching moment was caught on camera in Salem City, New Jersey.

Douglas Hogate, Sr. officially called in his final "Code 3" signing off the air at the end of his shift at 6 p.m. Thursday. After 28 years, he retired as a Sergeant from the Salem City Police Department.

What makes the moment so special is that on the other end of the radio was his son, Douglas Hogate Jr., who has been a dispatcher at Salem County Dispatch Center for 9-years.
