Home invasion victim with machete reportedly cuts off attacker's hand
NORTHAMPTON, Pa. (WTXF/AP) - A home invasion has reportedly ended with the victim cutting off a hand of a masked attacker with a machete.
Bethlehem police said a man was dumped late Saturday before midnight at the emergency room of Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg with a severed hand and multiple lacerations.
Chief Mark DiLuzio said the injuries stemmed from an incident in Northampton, where a 28-year-old man was reportedly attacked as he was sleeping in the basement of the home.
The victim's father told The Morning Call two masked men crept inside through a cellar door and fired several shots from a BB gun, so his son grabbed a machete and started swinging.
Northampton police have not commented on their investigation.
