WHANGAPARAOA, New Zealand (WTXF/STORYFUL) - How much time have you spent waiting for your doorbell to ring and see your pizza has arrived?
In New Zealand, Domino’s Pizza actually delivered two pizzas to a customer’s home by drone.
The company says it’s the “first commercial delivery of food by drone to a customer” in the world.
They call it DRU -- Domino's Robotic Unit -- and report it’s the first Civil Aviation Authority-approved commercial drone delivery service in the world.
Domino’s is one of the first major chains to deliver food by drone, but other food shops pulled off drone delivery a year ago.
Domino’s practiced for this delivery in August.
Bon appetite, and hope they got the order right!
