76ers: Joel Embiid surgery successful

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star center Joel Embiid's surgery was successful, according to the Philadelphia 76ers Vice President of Athlete Care, Dr. Daniel Medina.

Joel Embiid had surgery to begin the process of repairing a fractured orbital bone March 31. In a statement released late Saturday, Embiid's surgery was described as successful.

There is no timetable set for Joel's recovery. Embiid will be seen for a post-operative exam in about a week. His return to basketball will take place when it is deemed medically advisable.

Embiid was injured in a game against the New York Knicks Wednesday, March 28.
