Kitten Escapes Flooding by Hitching a Ride

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX--A cute kitten escaped the flood waters in Houston, Texas, by hitching a ride with a woman evacuating from her vacation cabin.

Officials told Pat Joblinsky to evacuate the area, so she packed up and started driving home on I -10 early Monday morning. It was raining heavily the whole way home.

Pat says she thought she heard meowing, but blamed it on exhaustion.

"I heard a kitten and I thought I am really stressed out that I'm hearing cats," said Pat.

Little did she know, she was actually hearing a kitten. When she arrived home the next morning she discovered the little kitten, barely weighing a pound, sitting on the engine block. Pat believes the kitten survived because the engine was kept cool because of all the rain.

Pat named the Lucky and says he has plenty of lives left. She plans on giving him the forever home he deserves.
