1 arrested, 1 sought in shooting that killed father in Germantown

- Philadelphia Police have arrested one suspect and identified another  in connection with a shooting that killed a passing motorist as he drove with his young daughter in the back seat.

Investigators say Jameil Byrd and Saykou Monte were shooting at one another from across the street on the 5100 block of Germantown Avenue back on July 28th, when Alsharay Ford, 25, drove by in his car.

Ford was hit by gunfire in both the right and left sides of his body, and continued driving for another two blocks. Police arrived and Ford was rushed to the hospital by police, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day. Officers found his three-year-old daughter in the back seat unharmed.

Investigators identified Jameil Byrd, 18, as a suspect, and he was arrested without incident Thursday. He has been charged with murder and related offenses.
