1 killed, 1 injured in Southwest Philadelphia fire

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man has died in a house fire in southwest Philadelphia.

Firefighters had a tough fight after they found flames coming from a second floor bedroom when they arrived at the scene on South Millick Street early Friday.

A second victim, a 39-year-old man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in unknown condition.

Neither victim's name has not been released.

High winds and frigid temperatures made battling the fire much harder on the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and 9 others were displaced by the blaze.
