15-year-old boy struck by car while crossing street in Tioga

Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was struck by a car in Tioga Wednesday morning.

The victim was reportedly walking at the Broad Street and Erie Avenue crosswalk on his way to school when he was hit by a female driver.

Witnesses tell FOX 29 that the child had the right of way and the driver was on her phone at the time of the accident. The woman categorically denies that she was on the phone at the time of the accident.

The boy, who sustained head injuries, was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he s listed in stable condition.

The driver is cooperating with police.
