BENSALEM, PA (WTXF) - Emergency officials in Bucks County have confirmed two firefighters were taken to the hospital following an early morning fire.
Firefighters responded to a fire inside a building on the 1100 block of Tennis Avenue around 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning.
Authorities say one firefighter was taken to the hospital after falling through the roof of the home, injuring his neck, face and back. He was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
A volunteer firefighter was also treated after experiencing tightness in his chest. He is also in stable condition.
Fire officials say the fire started in a second floor bedroom, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation, though it did not appear suspicious.
A resident inside the home at the time of the fire managed to escape, but not without suffering burns to their feet, which were treated at Aria Torresdale Hospital as well.
