Philly Police, FBI search for attempted bank robber

- The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are looking for any information that could help identify and capture the person responsible for an attempted robbery.

Authorities say the suspect attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank at 1837 East Allegheny Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning.  The suspect was seen on surveillance video entering the bank before he allegedly showed a teller a demand note, and eventually left the bank empty-handed.

The suspect was last seen heading west on Allegheny Avenue, and is considered armed and dangerous.  He is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s and 5’7” tall with a medium build and a black beard.  He was wearing a gray hooded shirt with blue sleeves, blue jeans, a dark-colored baseball cap and sneakers.

Investigators are offering a reward for information to help capture the suspect, and urge anyone with information about this attempted robbery or the unknown male responsible to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department.  Tipsters can remain anonymous.
