WILDWOOD, NJ (WTXF) - The Wildwood Fire Department made history this week when they swore in their first ever female firefighter.
Christina Sacco, a lifelong Wildwood resident, had her badge pinned to her uniform Wednesday, by her father Captain Aldo Sacco.
During the same ceremony Wildwood crowned second generation fire chief in Daniel Speigel. Speigel's father Floyd, a retired chief, stood by his son's side while he was promoted.
Sacco is the first female firefighter in the department's 104 year history. It is the second time in their history that a second-generation firefighter has carried on the tradition of leading the department.
Congratulations to both of them!
