17-year-old shot in the leg in Northeast Philadelphia, 2 arrested

Police have arrested two suspects in a Northeast Philadelphia shooting that left one teenager with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The incident occurred Saturday night at 10:37 p.m. behind Archbishop Ryan High School at the baseball field.

According to police, they found a 17-year-old male victim shot once in the left leg. He was taken to Aria Torresdale in stable condition.

The victim told police that while with a group of friends hanging out in the backwoods of Archbishop Ryan High School, two males, a 16-year-old white male and a 19-year-old white male, approached the victim about buying narcotics.

The victim told police he didn't know the males and they exchange hostile words with each other.

The males then walked away on the phone, according to the victim, calling someone, giving their location, and standing by.

According to the victim, a few minutes later a third male approached with the other males and pointed a black handgun at him while making threats.

A fight broke out where the three males attacked the victim. The gun was fired by the third male and struck the victim in the leg. The three males then fled on foot from the area.

Bike officers, while surveying the area, stopped two males fitting the description on the 3800 block of Elmore Place.

No charges have been filed at this time.
