Memorial held for woman brutally killed in Frankford

- “My heart. It's just sad that her kids have got to grow up without her. She didn’t deserve to die like this.”

They fought back tears as they brought candles, balloons, posters and condolences for Rickie Morgan in Kensington Wednesday night.

It was time to grieve and remember the 35 year old, who many knew as Layla. She was found brutally stabbed to death over the weekend here at Jasper and East Cumberland.

“She was just so kind. She was so nice to everybody, everybody. They talked so kindly of her.”

“It's a brutal crime. This did not have to happen to here, regardless of what the situation was.”

More than a dozen people stopped by the murder scene, including her good friend William Rivera who recalled the life of the young mother, who many say was thoughtful and bright.

“She was a good person. A lot of people liked her, loved her. It's just a shame that this took place,” Rivera said.

While friends mourned Morgan’s brutal murder, police are working on leads, looking for this man on a blue and black bike with a backpack and baseball cap.

They believe the same man may be connected to two other sexual assaults in this area.

Both of those victims survived.

Police believe the suspect is targeting prostitutes.

“I hope he gets caught. He rots in hell for what he did to this young lady. She did not deserve to die like this.”

Police also released this video Wednesday of a man on a blue and black bike who choked a woman on the 3800 block of Jasper back on July 12th.

She was found unconscious and naked. She suffered head and facial injuries. She remains hospitalized.

“There's a $20,000 reward. Let’s get this guy off the street.”

“Til we get this guy, nobody's going to be safe.”
