Driver sought in Bustleton hit-and-run crash that left 2 dead, 5 injured

Police are searching for a driver who they say is responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed two people and injured five others in Bustleton overnight.

Authorities say someone driving a Chevy Camaro was heading south on Bustleton Avenue at a high speed when they struck a car stopped at a red light shortly before midnight Saturday.

The first car then hit a sport utility vehicle, which flipped over and struck a minivan. Two other cars were struck.

The victims in the SUV have been identified as 50-year-old Juan A. Lopez Rivera and 48-year-old Carmen Montalvo Ruiz.

Five people in the minivan, including an 8-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Other drivers and passengers were uninjured or didn't seek medical treatment.

Police say the Camaro driver was picked up by someone driving a white Lexus which fled the scene. The Camaro driver is described as a man in his 20s who was seen wearing a black suit and white shirt.
