Mother, son found dead after stabbing in Maple Shade

Authorities in Maple Shade, New Jersey have identified a mother and son who were found dead inside their apartment.

Police have identified them as Sasikala Narra, 38, and her son Anish Narra, 6.

Officials were called to the scene on the 100 block of Fox Meadow Drive around 9 p.m. Thursday evening by Narra's husband, after he came home and found the bodies of his wife and son.

Police are investigating their deaths as homicides, and say both victims were stabbed multiple times. Autopsies were scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Narra and her husband reportedly moved to the United States a decade ago, continuing their engineering work.

Fox 29 found detectives taking away bags of evidence from the scene with many questions to answer.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Prosecutors in a release disputed some media reports that it was a hate crime connected to their Indian origin.
