Officers responded to the scene on the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street just before 1 a.m. after they hear multiple gunshots.

Upon arrival, police spotted a car speeding from the scene, and followed it until it crashed on 20th Street and Stenton Avenue.  The driver and passenger fled from the vehicle, but officers were able to catch up with the driver, and took him into custody after finding two guns in the car.

When police returned to the shooting scene, they learned two men had been shot.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the back, and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say a 32-year-old man was also shot in the leg, and listed in stable condition.
