1 dead, 7 injured in Easter Sunday shootings in Philadelphia

Police are investigating after three separate shootings across Philadelphia on Easter Sunday left one person dead and seven others injured.

Just after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a double shooting at North 22nd Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in North Philadelphia. Two men were sitting in a car when police say they were shot.

Fourteen shots were reportedly fired from a semi-automatic weapon.

A 37-year-old man was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he later died. A 27-year-old man remains in critical condition at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Around 10 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of South 31st Street in Grays Ferry. Investigators say four people were shot, including a 23-year-old man, two women ages 18 and 36, and a 16-year-old girl.

Police say a suspect fired their weapon while driving a Nissan Altima. Several fired cartridge casings and bullet fragments were recovered from the scene.

All four victims are listed in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

On Sunday afternoon, a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were also left injured after being shot at South 49th and Chestnut streets in West Philadelphia. Both are listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in connection with the three shootings.
