(INSIDE EDITION) - Four people were arrested for allegedly helping a murder suspect flee a packed Florida courtroom, as the reward to find the escaped inmate reached $20,000 on Sunday.
Winston George Russell, Jr., 24, Laquay Dianta Stern, 18, Kreton Barnes, 18, and Trevon Barnes, 18, were arrested for their alleged parts in helping Dayonte Resiles flee a pre-trial conference at Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale on Friday.
Russell and Stern were arrested Saturday in Deerfield Beach. Both were charged with attempted escape and accessory to a felony, while Russell also faces two counts of probation violation. They were held without bond, NBC Miami wrote.
The charges brought against the Barnes brothers were not immediately clear.
Authorities on Sunday were still searching for Resiles, 21, who struck one of the two unarmed bailiffs who were watching him and several other defendants, leapt out of the jury box and escaped the courthouse, officials said.
Though he was wearing waist shackles and handcuffs, Resiles managed to leave behind the cuffs and his prison jumpsuit during his escape.
His attorney said he arrived to the courthouse to find a chaotic scene and was “totally shocked” to learn his client was the alleged cause of the mayhem.
“He should turn himself in,” his lawyer, H. Dohn Williams, Jr. told InsideEdition.com Saturday. “I don’t want him or anyone else to get hurt.”
Resiles, who's accused of stabbing a woman to death in 2014, is believed to be armed and dangerous, officials said.
He faces the death penalty in the murder of 59-year-old married mother of two Jill Su, who he is accused of killing after forcing his way into her home to burglarize it, authorities said.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The reward for information that leads to Resiles’ arrest has increased to $20,000, after two people donated $10,000 to the Broward Crime Stoppers’ $10,000 reward, officials said.
Anyone with information about Resiles' whereabouts is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
