PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Throughout the cleanup from this past weekend's winter storm, the city has been encouraging residents to call 311 if they need their street plowed.
Now, we're hearing just how many people called.
The Philly 311 system says it has received 21,000 calls so far due to the blizzard of 2016.
That's eight times the norm.
They also say they received 6,000 more requests through social media.
If you've called and still haven't seen a plow, officials say hang on to your claim number, so workers can keep track of your request.
"The city is getting there. We're plowing and salting. The street department has been doing an incredible job. There's a lot of miles to the streets in the City of Philadelphia," said James Morseof Philly 311.
Officials say until crews can get to your street, you can lend a hand too, by cleaning snow from storm drains and fire hydrants.
