Two men arrested, charged in killing of 15-year-old New Jersey girl

- Two individuals have been arrested in the December 2015 homicide of a 15-year-old girl in Cape May County.

23-year-old Derrick Powers of Rio Grande, New Jersey and 33-year-old Charles Mosley, also of Rio Grande, New Jersey were arrested and charged with numerous offenses relating to the murder of Nicold Angstadt.

Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor, Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner, and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana made the announcement on Friday via a press relase.

On December 14, 2015, detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lower Township Police Department were conducting a missing person’s investigation.

They went to a home on the 100 block of Vermont Avenue in Rio Grande and found the body of a white female, later identified as Nicole Angstadt.

Angstadt had been reported missing by her mother on December 1.

An investigation launched after the discovery by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Middle Township Police Department, and Lower Township Police Department led to the arrests of the two individuals.

Powers has been charged with murder, murder during the course of a sexual assault, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to desecrate a human body, hindering apprehension, hindering apprehension of another, endangering the welfare of a child, and robbery. His bail was set at $1 million.

Mosley has been charged with murder, murder during the course of a sexual assault, conspiracy to commit murder, desecrating human remains, conspiracy to desecrate a human body, aggravated sexual assault, hindering apprehension, and hindering apprehension of another. Mosley’s bail was also set at $1 million dollars.
