Abington Pizza Shop Robbed, Employees Locked in Freezer, Storage Area

ABINGTON, PA (WTXF) - Police in Abington are investigating an armed robbery at a Papa John's Pizza that took place Sunday morning.

The Papa John's on the 1800 block of Easton Road in Willow Grove was the scene of the incident around 11:15 a.m.

Police say a man entered the store and asked about buying a pizza. When the employee told him the price, the suspect drew a handgun, pointing it at the employee and ordered her to go to the back of the store.

Then, the suspect opened a side door in the store to let in a second suspect.

The two men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, and aslso stole cell phones from three employees before locking three of them in an upstairs storage area, and closing a fourth in the walk-in freezer.

The suspects have been described as black males between their 20s and 30s.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
