Arrest Made in H&Y Jewelry Store Robbery

The Philadelphia Police Department has announced an arrest in last week's jewelry store robbery in Girard Estates.

Christopher Castor, 29, of Glen Mills has been arrested and charged with the robbery and related offenses. The arrest followed an anonymous tip naming Castor; cell phone records and clothes found were consistent with the crime, police said.

The robbery took place on September 14, when two white males entered H & Y Royal Jewelers on South 23 rd Street at around 5:30 p.m. One punched a 53-year-old employee in the face, held him at knife point, and tied him up on the floor.

The South Detective Division and Special Investigations Unit, along with the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks participated in the investigation.

None of the jewelry has been recovered.
