Blowtorch Used in Failed Olney Supermarket Robbery

A pair of suspects attempted to break into a supermarket ATM in Olney last week by using a blowtorch- but the attempt failed and the thieves left empty-handed.

According to Philadelphia Police, the robbery attempt took place at 5 a.m. on January 14. Two unknown males entered the 7 Brothers Supermarket 180 West Duncannon Avenue, coming in through a garbage vent.

The suspects were seen on security cameras attempting to break into the store's ATM, using both a prybar and what appeared to be a blowtorch. But once the attempt failed the two men fled.

The first suspect was described as a light complected male of an unknown race, wearing a blue jacket, black pants, blue mask, and gray sneakers. The second was called a male, also of unknown race, wearing a black jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, black pants, black boots, and a white work mask.
