Brandywine SPCA hopes to find homes for pets displaced by hurricanes

When people pack up their homes to heed hurricane evacuations, they take everything they hold dear, including their pets.

But, what happens to those that don't have homes? Many our brought to rescues and shelters in the Philadelphia area.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley stopped by the Brandywine Valley SPCA Thursday morning to meet some of those pets who are looking for homes.

The shelter currently houses animals from all over the United States, and even Puerto Rico. Some of the animals there are recent additions, having been displaced by hurricanes Florence and Michael.

Staff members also stressed this morning that the pets at their shelter did not belong to anyone prior to the storm. Most were brought up from shelters they had been in prior to the storms.
