Man's burned body found near railroad tracks in Kensington

KENSINGTON (WTXF) - Police in Kensington are investigating the discovery of a burned body near a set of railroad tracks Friday morning.

Homicide detectives say the unidentifiable male body was found on the 2100 block of East Allegheny Avenue. The Crime Scene unit documented evidence along a side driveway wedged between a metal finishing factory and railroad tracks. A police source says a K-9 detected an accelerant on scene. Specifics remain under investigation.

People who live in the area say drugs are notorious in this neighborhood and crime is getting worse.

An autopsy is expected to be performed Saturday.
