Porsche problem: Driver crashed it through dry cleaner

- The car that crashed through a dry cleaner, Tuesday morning, wasn’t just any car. It was a Porsche.

Delaware State Police say at about 8:23am, Duane D. Werb was driving a 2005 Porsche Boxster in the parking lot of Reynold’s Cleaners in Hockessin. That’s in the 7400 block of Lancaster Pike.

Unfortunately, police say, “As the Porsche pulled into a parking space, Werb accelerated over the sidewalk and struck the building with its front bumper. The Porsche continued through the building and came to a stop with the vehicle halfway through the wall of the business.”

Nobody was hurt.

Police say Werb, 66, “did not recognize he pushed his accelerator pedal instead of his brake.”

He was cited for careless driving.
