Chester officer wounded, one suspect killed in shootout

CHESTER, PA (WTXF) - Officials say a Chester Police officer was injured in a shootout with suspects Saturday afternoon.

The shootout occurred near 7th and Fulton Streets in Chester around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop for a suspected stolen vehicle. The passengers in the car were reportedly uncooperative.

Police say that they ended up exchanging gunfire.

Officials have confirmed that one officer was indeed struck by gunfire in the incident.

The officer, identified as Officer Alan Davis during a press conference Sunday morning, is listed in serious, but stable condition at Crozer.

Police say one suspect is in custody, one is in the hospital critical, but stable condition and another is dead following the incident.
