Police seeking suspects in attempted store robbery

Philadelphia Police are looking for two men they say attempted to rob a store in West Philadelphia.

The incident occurred back on March 3 rd at 7:25 p.m. at the Eni Haitian Variety Store located on the 400 block of North 64 th Street.

78-year-old Normil Israel said he was surprised and scared when two suspects entered his son's store and attacked him.

With his son translating, Normil recalled how one suspect grabbed him around the neck, demanding that he open the cash register. He put up a struggle apparently not knowing the suspect had a gun to his back. Then, he started to scream for help.

As Marceau Israel came running to the front door of the store that just opened in January, the suspects fled down 64th Street.

Police say the suspects spoke to Israel in French Creole, which leads them to believe they are also Haitian. Newly installed surveillance cameras captured the entire crime.
