Cruise ship damaged in storm to return to NJ

BAYONNE, NJ (WTXF) - A Royal Caribbean cruise ship battered by a violent storm in the Atlantic is set to arrive back in New Jersey this evening.

The Anthem of the Seas ran into high winds, and waves as high as 30 feet, Sunday night.

Frightened passengers had to stay in their cabins, as the storm tossed around all their stuff.

The cruise-line decided to cut the trip short.

Critics are now questioning why the ship sailed into the storm, when it was in the forecast for several days.

But Royal Caribbean is calling the extreme weather unexpected.

The Anthem of the Seas will dock tonight.
