DA: 'No evidence of a crime' in deaths of elderly couple found outside home

Officials in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania say they found no evidence of a crime after an elderly couple was found dead outside of their home last December.

Back on Dec. 4, 2018, Ross Woodward, 84, and Rhoda Woodward, 81, were discovered by a postal worker around 11 a.m. on the 500 block of Bethlehem Pike in Whitemarsh Township.

Friday, authorities announced they were closing their investigation into the couple's death after finding no evidence that a crime had occurred.

The coroner's office listed Ross' cause of death as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Rhoda's cause of death was determined to be a blunt impact injury to the head with a contributing cause of environmental hypothermia.

The manner of death for each was undetermined.
