Damage Severe at Jersey Shore

Down the shore, flood waters are receding in the storm's aftermath. The flooding, another reminder of how vulnerable shore communities are during storms.

Drying out at the jersey shore - two days after a storm surge sent tidal waters rushing into the streets--flooding homes and businesses -- like bucks electrical in north wildwood and neighboring Flynn's real estate agency...

Owner Jim Flynn says this is the worst storm damage he's seen in 26 years...

"People are under the impression that we didn't get hit bad - a lot of us got hit much worse than Sandy." .

North Wildwood mayor Patrick Rosenello says the powerful storm devoured the town's dune system...sand levels dropped by about 15 feet...repairs will cost roughly 10 million dollars.

"This storm got us because it was much more intense than had been forecasted...water levels almost a foot higher than forecasted," Rosenello said.
