Elderly woman dies in Montgomery County house fire

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (FOX 29) - An elderly woman has died following a house fire in Montgomery County.

Crews responded to the 2200 block of Mulberry Lane in Lafayette Hill around 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

Officials say the woman attempted to escape, but firefighters were not able to enter the home due to the flames.

Firefighters found the victim deceased at the front door. She has yet to be identified.

There were no working smoke alarms inside the home, according to the fire marshall.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
