Federal Indictment For Renee Tartaglione

A woman on the board of directors at a local mental health clinic is facing a long list of charges.

Prosecutors say she stole hundreds of thousands of dollars... From the non-profit.

Renee Tartiglione leaving federal court- about an hour ago- flanked by her lawyer and husband ward leader Carlos Matos.

Her family is famous in Philly political circles. Her mother, Marge Tartaglione was city commissioner chairwoman and, her sister Tina is a current state senator.

Now, Renee is charged with conspiracy and fraud- facing 54 counts for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars federal investigators say- from a psychiatric clinic in Fairhill.

"We feel this is a very serious crime and i think the grand jury made clear these kinds of crimes taken seriously," Bea Witzleben, assistant U.S. attorney,

The feds say- Tartaglione created a slush fund- by buying this building where the Juniata community health clinic was based and then raised the monthly rent from $4500 to $25,000.

Then when the clinic moved to another building she owned investigators say- she arranged for rents to skyrocket to 35,000 and eventually 75,000 a month.

Renee had little to say as she left federal court today, Her attorney Jeffery Johnson- says she'll fight the allegations.
