2 killed, 1 injured in Wilmington fire Tuesday

Two people were killed and a third was critically injured in a fire in Wilmington, Delaware Tuesday, November 7. Meanwhile, officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

The fire broke out just before 9 a.m. on the unit block of Norway Avenue in Richardson Park.

Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke pouring from the top story of the home. Firefighters were able to rescue two occupants from the home, and a third occupant was able to escape. A 60-year-old man who was pulled from the home later succumbed to his injuries.

A 79-year-old female passed away from her injuries November 8. A 59-year-old male remains in critical condition. He was taken for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Heavy fire damage is estimated at $200,000. State fire investigators are continuing to investigate the cause.
