Germantown fire damages homes, displaces 6

Crews were on the scene of a row home fire in Germantown Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the scene on the 5600 block of Sprague Street shortly after 2:15 a.m.

Three houses sustained heavy damage from the blaze. A fourth suffered porch damage.

A man, woman and four children have been displaced as a result. All are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The fire appears to have been started in a vacant home before spreading to the surrounding row homes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
