Heartbreaking Image Shows 2 Children Praying for Their Police Officer Dad in Front Of Squad Car

(INSIDE EDITION) - Following a series of deadly police-related shootings, two children in Indiana have been seen taking a moment to pray their police officer father returns home safely.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department uploaded a picture on Facebook depicting two children dressed in police uniforms, praying on their knees in front of a patrol car Sunday afternoon.

The photo was simply captioned: "Praying their father and all police officers return home safely."

The emotional image comes only hours after three Baton Rouge police officers were shot and killed, and another three were wounded.

Before his death, 32-year-old Montrell Jackson, who was one of the officers slain in the shooting, wrote on his Facebook page,"This city MUST and WILL get better. I'm working in these streets so any protesters, officers, friends, family, or whoever, if you see me and need a hug or want to say a prayer. I got you."
