'Jawn' could soon be in the dictionary, Merriam-Webster says

If you're from Philadelphia, or have lived in Philly, then you definitely know the word "jawn."

It has even made its way into the movies and onto billboards.

Well now "jawn" is one step closer, to being in the dictionary as Merriam-Webster has just posted the word online, as one of the 'words it's watching.'

Merriam-Webster explained they are seeing the word more often, but it has not yet met its criteria for entry into the dictionary.

Jawn by the way, is an "all-purpose noun," that can "refer to a single thing."
