Lawsuits filed in death of girl, 18, who fell from Center City building

- Lawsuits have been filed in connection with the death of Rebecca Kim, the 18 year old who died after falling from the 8th floor of a building on Chestnut Street in 2015.

One suit has been filed by her estate and the other by the woman that Kim landed on top of.

Now, the question is, who should be held liable?

What can't be disputed is that in January of 2015 Rebecca Kim was visiting friends enrolled in the Art Institute of Philadelphia when she fell from the window ledge of an eighth floor building.

She landed on 44-year-old Erica Goodwin who was walking along Chestnut Street.  Goodwin suffered serious injuries, but survived.  The teen did not.

The medical examiner ruled her death a suicide.

Kim's estate filed suit in December against the school and the property owners.

Goodwin recently filed a suit of her own against the school, the property owners, Kim's friends and Kim's estate.
