Lights snow dampens roads in the area

Light snow is slowing the morning commute in parts of our area Friday.

Major highways Friday are mostly clear thanks to pre-treatment by PennDOT and NJDOT crews.

However, there are slick spots and motorists are urged to use caution.

The heaviest snow is expected in southern parts of the area

A winter weather advisory is in effect for a number of counties, and some areas could see as much as 2-4 inches. Other areas are only expected to see about 1 to 3 inches.

Most advisories are due to expire later in the morning.

The snow is expected to taper off by the middle of the day.
