Man, 48, charged with 8th DUI in Upper Darby

Police in Upper Darby arrested and charged a man with his eighth driving under the influence offense.

Timothy Fries, a 48-year-old Prospect Park resident was arrested last Thursday and was charged with DUI.

Upper Darby police say Fries was found slumped over the wheel of his SUV at the intersection of State Road and Fairfax Road around 9 a.m., after receiving a tip from a school bus driver who was picking up students at the time.

It marked the eighth time Fries has been arrested for driving under the influence, and the third time he was charged with driving with a suspended license.

Fries, whose previous charges date back to 1989, was jailed on $25,000 bail with a 10% cash option.
