Man arrested for domestic assault incident in Rehoboth

Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a domestic-related assault against a woman in Delaware.

The incident took place around 1 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Munchy Court in Rehoboth.

Officials say 31-year-old Kyle King, of Millsboro, showed up uninvited and intoxicated at the home of a female acquaintance. When he was repeatedly asked to leave, he refused to do so. King allegedly became aggressive toward the woman, at one point grabbing her by the throat and restricting her breathing. The victim was able to free herself from King and flee the home.

Responding officers made contact with King as he sat in a car outside the home, but when they attempted to question him, he reportedly fled back inside and refused to comply with police orders. Police say King also locked the doors to the home once inside.

Troopers ultimately gained entry and were able to take King into custody after a brief struggle.

King has been charged with second degree burglary, strangulation, offensive touching, menacing, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $8,500 secured bail.
