Man assaults security guards during Target robbery in Wilmington

Delaware State Police are searching for a suspect involved in a robbery in Wilmington.

The incident occurred on Friday at 6:07 p.m. at the Target store located at 1050 Brandywine Parkway.

According to a press release, the male suspect entered the store and after he concealed merchandise without paying he was confronted by store security.

The suspect resisted being detained and assaulted the two store employees. He then pulled out a utility knife and attempted to stab another loss prevention officer.

He then fled towards Naamans Road.

The security officers sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatement.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 36 to 44 years of age, 6'0", 260 to 270 pounds with close-cropped shaped black hair, a possible thin beard and goatee/mustache.

He had full-frame square eyeglasses, a gold Rocawear jacket, dark blue jeans, and black shoes.
