Man Dies After Being Shot Multiple Times in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police in are investigating a homicide, after a man was shot multiple times in Northeast Philadelphia.

Shots rang out on the 4200 block of Tackawanna Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to investigators, a man was shot multiple times in the head, and was taken to Temple University Hospital.

The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.

Witnesses told police that no argument was heard prior to the shooting, but they did hear four or five gunshots.

Police were also told by neighbors that two men in dark clothing were seen running away from the scene.

Police are now working to figure out what led up to the shooting, and looking to see if surveillance cameras in the area may have captured video evidence.

Philadelphia Police tell FOX 29 the area is known for street level drug sales.

The investigation is ongoing.
