Man found dead inside burning Springfield Twp. home

SPRINGFIELD TWP., PA (WTXF) - Fire crews in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania discovered the body of a man inside a burning home early Friday morning. The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Michael Schoen.

The fire broke out shortly after midnight at East Thomson Avenue and Granite Terrace.

Police say Schoen was found in a second story bedroom as firefighters were trying to battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities say accelerants were found in several rooms in the home.

No other injuries were reported in the blaze.
